I'm posting this at a different forum as well. Figured I'd bring it over too.
Metal Gear Solid: The GFAQ's Conspiracy
The following events actually happened. The government has denied any and all actions.
May 12, 1998
Sands blow about harshly as two lightly armored APC's trek along what appeared to be a frequently used road. Tire and tread marks can be seen, but barely due to the sands. Inside of the APC's are 8 blindfolded men. Each of these men are highly trained SIERRA OPS (Silent Infiltration/Extraction Recon, Rescue, and Attack Operations) soldiers.
"Alright. You can take off your blindfolds.", yelled one of the drivers. "We're here. I hope you enjoy this god forsaken dust bowl as much as I do.", he added sarcastically.
The men got out and squinted their eyes as they adjusted to the light. They immediately began sweating in the 100 degree weather, sand sticking to the moisture, and caking on their face and arms.
They stood at attention and saluted as a young soldier walked up to them.
"At ease men, no need for the formalities. We don't worry too much about that here. I'm Lieutenant Jonathan Faulk. Follow me and you will be briefed by the general."
The Lieutenant escorted the men to a large, air conditioned tent in the center of the camp. Inside, there were projectors, and chalkboards with tons of stickies on their edges on one side of the tent. Rolled up maps, a radio, and a gun locker were located on the other side as well as a large table surrounded by chairs, with a three dimensional map of what appeared to be a mountain range in Soviet Russia. In the back corner was a tiny desk with a little green lamp dimly lighting the area, and a gruff looking man sitting there, writing.
"General?", Faulk said. He quickly whispered to the men, "The General is a little hard of hearing, so you'll have to speak up." "General Ford!", he said a bit louder.
"Hmm?" Ford looks up? "Oh! You've arrived. I hope your trip wasn't too bad. I'm sorry about the blindfolds, but this base is Top Secret. Only high ranking officials know the co-ordinates of this area."
Ford gets up and walks to the center of the tent where the three dimensional map and 9 chairs are located. "Sit down, sit down. Faulk, can you get these men some water to drink, as well as some for them to clean up a little."
"Yes sir.", Faulk replies, and quickly leaves. He returns a few moments later with a jug of water, some rags, and a small bowl. "Here you go. Don't worry about wasting it all. That's one of the benefits of having a stream nearby."
"So, can each of you tell me who you are, and your field of experience?", Ford asks. "Let's go clockwise from my left. Code names only. I won't be around you long enough to know you personally."

The men begin to sound off.
"Teisel. Demolitions."
"leftanalogstick. Call me Lag. Sharp Shooter. These guys will say I can shoot ya in the ass from a thousand yards without a scope, but I'm not that good."
Asshat chimes in, "It's true. I've seen him!"
The group laughs for a moment then grows quiet. They continue sounding off.
"Alamar. Demolitions and Medic."
"GunMetalAoD. Friends call me Reno. Top in my class with Assault Rifles."
"inuyashamaster9. Im9 is fine by me. Medic and Stealth. I can get in and out of anything quietly."
"Colonel_Asshat. Asshat is what I go by. I'm good with blades, and the 2nd best sharpshooter here."
"KuroZero29. Kuro or Zero for short. Demolitions and Assault Rifles"
"fire_crotch. Heavy Weapons. I'm also the resident gearhead. I can fix everything from tanks to Jeeps. I can also hotwire almost any enemy vehicle."
"Well, I like your choice of team mates.", chuckles Ford. "Who leads the group?"
Alamar speaks up. "That'd be me. But Teisel is Second in Command if I go down. If we split up, he leads one fireteam, and I lead the other. We do our damndest to never split up into more than two teams."
Teisel then adds in the team breakdown. "When we break up into two fireteams, we group up like this. Alamar will lead Fireteam Alpha. Alpha consists of Alamar, Reno, Asshat, and fire_crotch. I'll lead Fireteam Bravo. Bravo consists of Kuro, Im9, Lag, and myself."
"That way, we have a Sniper, Medic, Demolition Expert, and Rifleman in each group.", adds Reno.
"I like that.", says Ford. "Very smart. Well, I want you all to get some sleep. Tomorrow, I will brief you on your mission. Faulk will escort you to your bunks."
The SIERRA team silently gets up, and follows Faulk to their sleeping quarters.

"This is your objective." Ford pointed to a building displayed on the projector. "We have reason to believe that this building is being used to mass produce Metal Gear units. We need you to st..."
Alamar cuts off Ford mid-sentence. "What is a Metal Gear, General Ford?"
"Thats right... You haven't been fully briefed on these new threats. Let me explain." Ford searches through a box of projector slides. He pulls out 8 slides, and places them in the projector. "Here we go. The first 4 slides are images from different angles." Ford slowly clicks through the first four, giving the team time to see the giant machine. "This next slide shows data collected by spies from one of the design bureaus. As you can see, this beast is a Nuclear Battle Tank. It is capable of delivering a 12 Kiloton warhead anywhere in the world without any warning from any location." Ford clicks to the next slide. "This slide shows you it in action. This image was taken as it was conducting a test launch. Ford clicks to another slide. "And this... this is a small city in Antarctica before..." Ford clicks to the final slide. "...and this... *sigh* this is the same city moments after the test launch."
The entire SIERRA team's jaws drop in disbelief at what they are seeing.
The image showed nothing but scorched earth and few building standing. The dead bodies not incinerated in the blast lay all over.
Kuro finally manages to say something. "General... how long did it take for this to happen? It must have taken a couple hours for a warhead that large to reach that distance."
"I'm afraid not. It reached it's target in approximately 25 minutes, but we have to move on. I need to tell you what your orders are as quickly as possible."
Lieutenant Faulk distributes a manila file with "FOR OPERATIVE'S EYES ONLY!" printed in red across it to each member.
"Inside these files are documents giving you information about the facility, it's surrounding area, and what you may find inside. We believe it is mass producing these abominations, and storing them underground, in what was thought to be an abandoned WWII transit tunnel."
Ford looked at the clock: 07:55
"I need to escort you to the runway. We have a C-130 there. Onboard are all the weapons, ammunition, tools, and other things you will need. Inside, a medical doctor will give you each an injection at the base of your ear. This injection contains a transponder. Not only can you speak to each other, but you will also be able to speak to a few other members of your team who won't be joining you. You'll be further briefed once you get in the air. I wish you all the best of luck, and God Speed."
SIERRA team walks up the loading ramp of the C-130, and prepare for the long flight to Russia.

May 13, 1998 09:15 (Somewhere over the Pacific Ocean)
Once the team boarded the aircraft, it had taken off immediately. Everyone aboard was to use code names only from here on out. Inside, a beautiful doctor gave each man the injection and the communications seemed to work perfectly. However, the batteries would only last for 36 hours. After that, the transponder would die out and be dissolved in the blood stream.
"I'm sorry for the rush gentlemen.", the doctor said. "My name is xfgirl. I request I be called xfg for the remainder of the mission."
The men nodded their heads, and said "Yes ma'am." at the same time.
"I understand you have two medics in your group. Very good. However, I will be communicating with you during the mission as well. I'll be here to help if any serious injuries occur. I'll be able to talk you through surgical procedures for example... if anything comes to that point. I can also tell you about the flora and fauna in the area."
All of a sudden, the transponders beep, and a man's voice is heard in their ears. "Are your COMSETs working?"
"Yes, sir. This is Lag. All other Coms are working as well."
The man then begins to speak. "I am Colonel _random_. I am the commanding officer on this mission. What I say, goes. Understood?"
"Sir!", the men say in unison again.
"In approximately 1 hour, you will arrive at your destination. You will be dropped in one of our land assault vehicles you see inside the cargo bay. We'll fly low and slow as you drive it out the back. And I mean low. About 10 feet from the ground. Our satellites have found a clearing large enough for us to do this safely."
fire_crotch gets a large smile on his face.
Asshat then speaks up. "Aren't our Coms a little loud? Won't the enemy hear it?"
_random_ quickly explains how only they can hear it due to ear stimuli while Alamar and Im9 listen carefully. They'd heard about soldiers being equipped with unsafe technology, and they wanted to make sure that they understood what it was doing to their ears. They weren't gonna have them and their team mates in any danger that could be avoided.
_random_ then continues with his briefing. "Your objective is to breach the facility's defenses, and destroy it along with whatever is inside. It is thought that there is a researcher there who wishes to defect to the U.S. He has all of the information we need to destroy these Metal Gear units."
"Do we know who he is? A picture or anything?", asks Alamar.
"No. The only information we have, is a portion of his name. It's all we could decipher in our Intelligence Department. What we have is *...rus Mar...* It's believed that is the last part of his first name, and the first part of his last name. But you have a time limit. We fear that they will put these weapons to use in 24 hours. You have to get in, destroy the facility, and return to the insertion point. The U.S. government has stated that in 20 hours, they will send a large contingent of bombers. They will be carrying Napalm, Bunker Busters, and possibly Atomic ordnance as well."
The cargo's intercom then clicked, and the pilot spoke. *All Troops Prepare For Exit Of Aircraft* *Time To Insertion Point... 15 Minutes*
Alamar then speaks up. "Alright men. Let's synchronize watches for 20 hours. On my mark...3, 2, 1, Mark!"
The SIERRA team loads up into the two Humvees as they prepare for the drop.

Moments ago, the C-130 had flown over Abakan, and made it's way over the lake just north of the town. Fireteam Alpha sat prepared in the first Humvee to leave the cargo bay. Fireteam Bravo was just behind them in the second humvee. A light near the ramp glowed a bright red. The loading ramp dropped, and SIERRA team watched the water, and then ground, rush by.
xfg had moved from the cargo bay, to the cockpit. As the team sat there alone, the C-130's intercom boomed.
*2 Minutes To Designated Drop Zone.*
Alamar then yelled out, "I suggest you 'bite the bullet' until we get on the ground. Don't want you to chop your tongues off. This'll be a pretty rough landing."
The rest of the team nodded their heads in acknowledgement as they reached into their packs, and grabbed the steel tube that housed their victory prize; a Cuban cigar that the General kindly gave to each man from his own private stash.
The aircraft then passed over the top of a forest, and dipped down slightly. The light in the bay turned green, and the first Humvee lurched forward as the locks holding it in place disengaged. fire_crotch hits the gas and the Humvee darts off the ramp.
Moments later, the second Humvee lurches forward, signalling to Lag that the locks were loose. Being the show-off he is, he holds the brake as he revs up the engine. Smoke spewing from the back tires, he takes his foot off the brake, and the Humvee shoots out of the plane while leaving a skidmark down the entire length of the cargo bay.
The vehicles jolted fiercely as they hit the ground, busting out the back window of one. They swerved to a stop, and the men took the tubes out of their mouths, each one with bite marks indented in the metal.
"What in the hell was that all about?", yelled Im9. Lag calmly turns in his seat and says, "Now they know SIERRA was there. Ha-ha-ha!"
The group looks back, and watch the C-130's loading ramp close. It then turns back south and continues to fly low until it reaches the Chinese border.
fire_crotch then says, "These babies are tough. Takes a landing like that, and still keeps running. I guess we should get these out of the open. Let's get into the forest we passed."
Alamar looks at his watch. "We have 20 hours. We gotta be outta here before 06:30 tomorrow"

The team move the Humvees into the foliage, and then cover them with a large camouflaged mesh. They then took branches laying on the forest floor, and stuck them in the mesh. After they were done, it looked like a large rock with moss and branches on it.
"That'll have to do.", stated Lag.
Just then, the comsets chirped.
"Did yo...t dow...ight? Res...at is your st...". A garbled transmission came through.
"The jolt must've messed something up. The frequency must have been changed.", said Im9. "What are we gonna do?"
"We'll just have to hope they flip through the frequencies.", said Teisel.
After about 5 minutes of garbled transmissions, Reno heard a perfect message. It was from xfg aboard the C-130.
"Dammit! Answer me! Is anyone there!"
Reno quickly spoke up.
"I hear you. We've heard you the whole time, but the message was all ****ed up."
The other members look at Reno, and, at almost the same time, they say "I still can't understand them."
Reno quickly relays that to xfg.
"I can hear you just fine, however, the others are still getting screwed up transmissions. What do we do?"
Relieved, but still annoyed at them as if it was their fault, she says "Change your frequencies!"
"She said change the frequency until you get the right one.", Reno relayed to SIERRA as he shrugged his shoulders.
"Uh... you didn't tell us how to do that. You just gave us the injection.", he says accusingly.
"I-I didn't? Um...sorry. To change your frequency, rub the area where I gave you the injection. Rub you finger up from the base of your ear to cycle to a higher frequency. Rub down towards your neck to lower the frequency."
Moments later, the entire team had their comsets on the right frequency.
"We can all hear you now, beautiful.", says Alamar.
"I don't think that is appropriate right now, do you?", she yelled. "But thanks for the complement. Now, on to business. First, did you all get down safely?"
"We did,", said Asshat, "and the Humvees are in good shape too. Just missing a window."
"That's good to hear. How bout your equipment? Is everything intact?"
"Yes ma'am. All the equipment is fine...", answered Kuro "But I have a question for you. How are we gonna get out? What's the extraction method?"
"You'll have to speak to the Colonel about that. I'm just the doctor.", she says with a cheerful tone.
